There are numerous places in Seoul where you can catch cherry blossoms. I haven’t gone to all those places, but I was able to go to some of the top attractions.

First, you should have an idea of the expected bloom dates. I always visit Imagine Your Korea website and specifically to this section to see updates about it.

Below is the forecast date for last year (2017) when I visited Korea.

You will see that every region has different expected dates to reach its peak because cherry blossom usually begins to bloom on Jeju Island then continually going up to the southern regions, then central regions, and lastly, the northern regions. And since I was traveling to Seoul, I researched the expected bloom dates for Seoul.

Seokchon Lake in Jamsil

I must say this place is so romantic. Never ever exclude this in your itinerary if you plan to go during this season. While walking at the side of the lake filled with cherry blossoms, I wished my hubby was there with me. A bonus attraction for you too as Lotte World is also located right at the center of this lake.

Lotte World

How to get there: from your location, take the nearest subway and alight at Jamsil Station, Exit 2 or 10.

Yeouido Park

This recreational park is located in the center of Seoul. Feeling like a local, I enjoyed walking around with my two girlfriends. It was even better as we met a Filipino traveler who was staying in the same guesthouse and we had a great time with her walking around this huge park.

How to get there: from your location, take the nearest subway and alight at Yeouido Station, Exit 3.

Bonus Attraction: Just across the park, you will see the KBS headquarters. (You surely know if you are a kdrama/k-variety show fanatic <3)

Yeouiseo-ro Street

Across the street of KBS, I was welcomed with these attractive white to light pinkish flowers. This place has the loveliest cherry blossom street in Seoul. The trees are about 30 to 40 yrs old as they say and line up for about 6km.

Ehwa Womans University

Located near the main entrance of Ehwa, the students were enjoying taking selfies with the big cherry blossom tree. We waited for our turn before we could take a selfie. You can continue walking and enter the university and be amazed how beautiful Ehwa is. Lots of beautiful trees and flowers surrounding the university.

How to get there: from your location, take the nearest subway and alight at Ehwa Womans Univ.Station, Exit 2 or 3

Gyeongbokgung Palace

It’s one of my personal favorite. I really love scenic views and historical places like this. Felt like I was living in the past. Heaps of cherry blossoms right in front of the entrance and more to sightsee inside. I think three hours is not enough to explore this place. I’d definitely would love to go back.

How to get there: from your location, take the nearest subway and alight at Gyeongbokgung Station, Exit 5

Nami Island

Of course why would I forget about Nami Island. A true K-drama fan would definitely include this on their bucket list. I just wished I had a whole day to discover this super incredible island.

How to get there:

From your location, take the nearest subway and alight at Cheongyangni Station

At Cheongyangni Station, buy ITX tickets and take the ITX and alight at Gapyeong Station.

Go to Gapyeong Shuttle Bus Terminal and alight at Nami Island bus stop. Then, either ride a ferry or try the zip-wire to get to Nami Island.

Everland

I couldn’t get enough of this. Another place to see cherry blossoms is at Everland Theme Park.

How to get there: By public bus. Bus No. 5002 from Gangnam Station, Exit 5

Yongsan Family Park

Just close to National Museum of Korea, cherry blossoms are lined up on this wonderful park. I would just like to sit back, relax and enjoy this stunning scenery.

How to get there: from your location, take the nearest subway and alight at Ichon Station, Exit 2.

Other popular places to catch cherry blossoms in Seoul:

Seoul Grand Park

Kyunghee University

Seoul Forest

I hope I had help you decide now in your next travel adventure. I bet Korea is now one of your top list!
