Touchdown Singapore!

Finally at Changi Airport! Oh my! This is wow. In year 2015, it was the best airport in the world and I am lucky to finally see it. This is daebak! Thus, our Day 1 starts here:

Day 1 - Exploring Changi Airport

After passing the immigration in Singapore, we’ve got some spare time to explore the airport. It offers internet stations where you can freely access the internet. So I opened Facebook to inform my mom that we have arrived safely. I noticed they also have charging station for laptops and mobiles. After that we walked around inside the airport while waiting for my boyfriend’s cousin to pick us up. There were a plethora of restaurants, shopping stores, massage chair area, sleeping area, movie theater and its all for free! It feels like a very large mall for me where everything I need is just around the corner. With that said, never exclude this in your itinerary. Actually, when you plan to travel to Singapore now, there will be extra charges as they are currently building more amenities and I’ve heard that it will be completed in 2019!

Day 1 - Riding a bus going to Yishun

Then finally our companion arrived. We had dinner at one of the hawk centers inside the airport. Then after that, we hopped on a bus going to Yishun where we would be staying for a couple of nights. Travel tip #1: Don’t forget to buy an ez-link card, there are convenient stores in the airport where you can buy ezlink card. This card will be very useful if you are planning to explore Singapore thru buses and trains.

Yishun, our view for tonight

We arrived at Yishun a bit later than expected so we just had a rest on our first night. We had quality time with our family who had us accommodated for the rest of our stay there. They shared to us the culture in Singapore like the do’s and don’ts which I think is very important to know whenever one travel to a foreign country.

Day 2 - Strolling around Marina Bay

Alright! Time to get on the train because we’re heading to the most popular attraction! We are headed to Marina Bay! If you ride the train you'll exit inside Marina Bay mall (known as The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands). We walked towards the mall's exit and saw something we only see on the net (or in photos for that matter) and this amazing view surprised our eyes.

If you walk around, you will see the popular Marina Bay Sands Hotel which looks like a ship to me. And there’s actually an infinity pool on the very top of this hotel. Want to relax in the world's largest rooftop pool while looking over Singapore's city skyline? You can book a room in advance on their website at https://www.marinabaysands.com/

Everything around you are picturesque so don't forget your camera and phone.

And now, we're heading to the oh so popular Merlion, which you shouldn't miss because they say you need to have an obligatory pose with Merlion when you visit Singapore! But before anything else, let's strike a pose! I don't want to miss this beautiful background.

Picture first before anything else :D

I was in shock when we got here for there were many tourist around this area and everyone's trying to have a selfie with Merlion. Too bad I didn't get the best shot but I would definitely come back and will strike a better pose. Everyone is getting creative. Someone is trying to make her photo look as if she's catching the water on her palm which I did on my photo but it wasn't as creative as it should be. . another one looks as if he's drinking the water from Merlion. So, as early as now think of your own creative shot for Merlion!

My epic fail creative shot :D

Day 2 - Lunch at Chinatown and Temple Searching

Feeling hungry, we were trying to find Chinatown. Unsure which bus # to hop on and we’re looking for the nearest MRT Station but we couldn’t. Hence, we’ve decided to just use our phone’s GPS and started to walk. The true adventure begins when you don't know where to go. More than a kilometer of walk, we finally reached our destination!

When I've got the best photographer. Thank you, hubby!

We had lunch at Chinatown. We weren’t able to take photos of the food because we were excited to eat. We rest for a couple of minutes more, then our feet led us to the next streets. You will see that this district is very vibrant. So this place is definitely instagrammable!

Just a street next to Chinatown Food Street, we passed by the Sri Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu Temple in Singapore.

Sri Mariamman Temple

And the very famous tourist attraction Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is located at the heart of Chinatown district. Whether you are a Buddhist or not, it is really great to take a walk through this cultural site. Admission to the temple is free. The inside is covered with hundreds of Buddha statues and impressive collection of artworks are on display.

Day 2 - Dinner at Hawk Centre

All right, so much for today’s discovery and we head back to Yishun to take a rest for couple of hours. In the evening, we found a hawk centre near Yishun and tried some Singaporean foods.

Day 2 -Watch Water and Light Show for free!

So we’re back to Marina Bay that night because we want to catch the SEA’s largest water and light show for free. Travel Tip #2: The show always starts at 8pm so better arrive few minutes before the time so you can get the best spot by the riverside.

I can't believe this show is for free. It's completely worth watching!

Day 2 - Be captivated by Marina Bay amazing view at night

Marina Bay Sands is really captivating at night. Especially the lights from the hotel really stands out. This time, I've got to get closer to this hotel and the structure is jawdropping.

Even the Supertree Grove stands out on its own having different schemes in various colors.

Then, our second night ended here and back to Yishun to sleep to save energy for tomorrow because we are going to............

Universal Studio Singapore!
